Francis Carpenter

Mr Carpenter is a member of the Supervisory Board. He has many years of financial experience, including more than 20 years with the European Investment Bank Group (“EIB”). 

Mr Carpenter is Board Member and Chair of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee of Braas Monier, quoted on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange; and Director of Paris Orleans Participations (Rothschild Group), the Luxembourg-based manco supervising a group of UCITS and AIFMs. He is also a Member of the Investment Committee of BIL Manage Invest, responsible for third-party AIF management, and part of BIL, Luxembourg’s third largest bank; Chair of the IC of IvcI a high-tech Turkish fund of funds; and Chair of the Board and of the IC of Remora Capital SA, a Swiss-based fund investing in HNB, healthcare, beauty, nutrition.

Mr Carpenter was Director of IPG, a leading European university tech-transfer business quoted on the LSE and FTSE 250, until mid-2014, by when he completed two full terms.

Whilst at European Investment Bank, Mr Carpenter spent 6 years as Secretary General, the highest non-external position, during which he oversaw major organisational and operational changes; previously, he was head of Credit Risk, and head of UK project finance. Subsequently, Mr Carpenter spent 5 years as CEO of European Investment Fund, with over €6bn AUM in European mid-cap PE & VC. On stepping down from EIF, Mr Carpenter set up his own consultancy business, AyersRock, Luxembourg.

Mr Carpenter was educated at Oxford, Wadham College, the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris, and at the New York New School for Social Sciences. He is based in Luxembourg.
